We’re looking for a new Activity Committee!

Dear NUTSies,

As you all know, we are looking for new committee members for 2018/2019! There are three different committees you can join, and today we want to introduce you to the Activity Committee!

What do you do: organise and host most of the activities of the association, and think of new, interesting activities for the association.

The competences of an activity committee member are:

  • Organising: a member of the AC is good at organising events, which means he or she is able to oversee what needs to happen to successfully organise and host an event and is able to do those tasks in time
  • Cooperation: a member of the AC can successfully cooperate with other members of the committee. He or she is open to the ideas of others, but can also critically analyse whether or not an idea is feasible, and knows how to communicate this to the other member. Communication in general is not a problem for an AC member.
  • Independence: although cooperation is of the utmost importance, an AC member is also able to perform tasks for the committee independently.

Furthermore, the activity committee is responsible for the success of the activities of the association, and responsible for creating activities that are interesting for all members!

We hope that many of you are considering to apply! Send your application to our e-mail address with a short motivation and your CV.

We’re looking for a new Travel Committee!

Dear NUTSies,

As you all know, we are looking for new committee members for 2018/2019! There are three different committees you can join, and today we want to introduce you to the Travel Committee!

As a committee member of the travel committee, you: organise and host the yearly trip abroad, and you will collect participants to join the trip.

The competences of a travel committee member:

– Organising: a member of the TC is good at collecting information about the destination and can conclude from that information what the best and cheapest way is to get there and stay there. Not only will a member of the TC cover the practical things of the trip, such as transportation and stay, but a member of the TC will also think of enjoyable activities during the trip.

– Cooperation: a member of the TC can successfully cooperate with other members of the committee. He or she is open to the ideas of others, but can also critically analyse whether or not an idea is feasible, and knows how to communicate this to the other member. Communication in general is not a problem for a TC member.

– Independence: although cooperation is of the utmost importance, a TC member is also able to perform tasks for the committee independently.

Furthermore, the travel committee is responsible for organising a successful trip abroad, and responsible for making the trip attractive for (almost) all members of the association!

We hope that many of you are considering to apply! Send your application to svnuts@gmail.com with a short motivation and your CV.

We’re looking for a new Pub Quiz Committee!

Dear NUTSies!

As you all know, we are looking for new committee members for 2018/2019! There are three different committees you can join, and today we want to introduce you to the Pub Quiz Committee!

As a member of the pub quiz committee, you are responsible for one of the oldest NUTS traditions: organise and host the monthly pub quiz!

The competences of a pub quiz committee member:

– Estimate the knowledge of the participants and create questions based on that: the PC is able to create questions that are neither too hard nor too easy; a participant mustn’t feel like he or she didn’t know anything at all, nor must they feel like they knew everything.

– Time-management: a member of the PC is able to create a pub quiz, buy presents and provide answer sheets in time for the pub quiz, as well as think of a theme two weeks in advance and discuss this with the Board.

– Cooperation: a member of the PC can successfully cooperate with other members of the committee. He or she is open to the ideas of others, but can also critically analyse whether or not an idea is feasible, and knows how to communicate this to the other member. Communication in general is not a problem for a PC member.

Furthermore, the pub quiz committee is responsible for organising successful pub quizzes, and for providing everything that is needed for the pub quizzes.

We hope that many of you are considering to apply! Send your application to svnuts@gmail.com with a short motivation and your CV.

NUTS Midsummer DRINKS

BBQ Poster

Dear NUTSies,

UPDATE: As fall has decided to come way early, we have canceled the BBQ and are having drinks at Café Hoppe instead at 20:00. Join us tomorrow and we’ll get you a free drink!

To celebrate the beginning of summer, the end of the academic year, and therefore the start of the summer holidays, we are organizing a BBQ! Come to the Noorderplantsoen on the 22nd of June at 17:00 to enjoy the freedom of summer holidays!

NUTS will be providing some food and drinks, but we don’t have unlimited resources, so do bring some yourself!

We also realize that we live in the Netherlands, which means that summer does not always (or most of the time) mean nice weather. In case of rain, we will make sure there is a back-up plan, so keep your eye on this event in case of any last minute changes!

When: 22 June 2018
Time: 17:00
Where: Noorderplantsoen, exact location will be announced soon!

Love,

The NUTS Board

NUTS June Pub Quiz!

Pub Quiz June

Dear NUTSies,

The year is almost over, you are almost done! Sadly, that also means that the Pub Quiz Committee is almost done. On the 5th of June, the current Pub Quiz Committee will be hosting its very last quiz. Join us one last time to wrap up the academic year and celebrate the start of summer with some useless trivia of the kind that only a NUTS Pub Quiz can offer!

To celebrate the fact that we all survived another year of trying to stay awake in class, long hours studying in the library, and crying during exams, the first round of drinks is on NUTS!

When: 5 June 2018
Time: 21:00
Where: The Crown

This event is free for members and €2.50 for non-members.

We hope to see you all there!
